one click 8 | The conversation starts like this, "I am getting too old for this. I am all most 52 years old. How old are you?". I just smile and say, "You are just a kid". Again I am asked, "How old are you?. Again I smile and say, "I am 72 years old and feel great". I always get the same reply. "How do you do it? You only look like you are in your fifties".
This conversation has taken place many times in recent years. Yes, I do feel great. I don't feel any older than I did when I was in my fifty's. I have worked hard all my life and continue to have many projects to finish. When I am not working, I play hard. I love to play sports and play every chance I get. I like to dance and do so every chance I get, sometimes when I am in the garage all alone. Think maybe these activities have anything to do with my looking younger than my age and maybe feeling younger than I am? I do!
There is a saying that "A body in motion tends to stay in motion and a body not in motion tends to stay that way". I believe in this saying. When I go to my favorite Walmart store, I try to always park in a space at the far end of the parking lot. As I get out of the car and head for the store, I walk at a brisk pace, and do the same returning to the car. When I am working around the house, I tend to walk at a fast pace and work at a fast pace. When the grandson comes for a visit, we always take a walk into the woods and pitch a few hoops. There are other times when we might go for a bike ride.
When I take my wife out for a meal, I eat what ever I like. Sometimes a steak, with a salad and usually always a large glass of water. Other times it might be Chinese, or maybe just a hamburger. I always try to have a large glass of water with any meal. The point is, no matter what I eat, it is something I enjoy.
Do I take medications? Only what my doctor recommends! I am a diabetic and have high blood pressure, but, pretty much keep it under control with diet and exercise. I am not a person that likes to visit my doctor, however, I do get a three month checkup every three months.
